From the Suze Orman FICO Kit reports on 2/3/05:
![]() The Date of Last Activity, the date used to age collections off the reports, should be reported and it is missing. However, the DLA can't possible be AFTER the assignment for collection. Both balance dates are after the Date Assigned. As so often, the reporting make no sense. Probably the first Balance Date is really the "Date Reported" with is also missing. If you have one of those reports, request a new FREE report or a refund from myFICO. If they give you a hard time and don't know what you're talking about, just give them this link. After all, these reports are clearly incorrect -- some guy at Fair Isaac was up all night and screwed up the field labels. Hopefully they'll fix that soon. The Date Assigned is critical because FICO scores do NOT utilize the date of the first permanent delinquency (usually the DLA for collections) but the date of assignment. And that's why a 6 year old collection that's reassigned (or sold) can totally destroy your scores. |
